Tucson, AZ (May 12, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday claimed one man’s life.

Just after 6:10 p.m., on May 9, the Tucson Police Department was called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on East Valencia Road. Reports show that a pedestrian was struck by a white Lincoln Navigator at the Circle K located near East Valencia Road and South 6^th Avenue.

The pedestrian sustained critical injuries in the incident and was rushed to Banner University Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Lincoln fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Authorities later apprehended the driver and one passenger. Both were taken into police custody.

Authorities later confirmed that the pedestrian, who was identified as 41-year-old Jesus Alberto Quevedo succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the TPD is investigating.
