Tucson, AZ (October 1, 2020) – An automobile accident in the Tucson area claimed the life of one child and left another seriously injured. On September 30, the Tucson Police Department responded to the site of a major motor vehicle accident on East Broadway.

Reports show that at approximately 5:50 p.m., two children were walking in the 8000 block of East Broadway Boulevard when they were struck by a vehicle. The crash resulted in severe injuries to both children involved.

Emergency crews rushed to the site of the accident and immediately secured the area. Police and firefighters blocked the stretch of East Broadway Boulevard between Sarnoff Drive and East Maguire Avenue as they initiated preliminary investigations surrounding the crash.

One child was fatally injured and declared deceased at the scene of the crash. The second child sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where they were admitted for emergency medical treatment.

At this time, the police in Tucson are investigating the crash.
