Tucson, AZ (October 30, 2020) – An accident reported on Thursday in the Tucson area left one person seriously injured. On October 29, the Tucson Fire Department assisted the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at the scene of a crash on the Catalina Highway (Mt Lemmon Highway).

Reports show that a bicyclist was riding on the highway when they were struck by a vehicle near milepost 4. The impact of the crash caused the rider to be thrown from their bicycle.

The cyclist sustained severe injuries in the crash. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they underwent emergency medical treatment.

Crews blocked off the road to begin investigating the accident. At this time, investigations are ongoing.
