Tucson, AZ (October 14, 2020) – An accident reported on Monday afternoon left one person seriously injured in the Tucson area. Just before 1 p.m., on October 13, police officers with the Tucson Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on South 6th Avenue.

According to reports provided by Tucson Police Department Officer Ray Smith, a pedestrian was walking on the south side of South 6th Avenue near the intersection with West 44th Street when they were struck by a vehicle.

The crash prompted the response of police and firefighters who immediately shut down the intersection and redirected traffic on the north side.

The unidentified pedestrian sustained very serious injuries in the accident. Paramedics rushed to the site of the crash and began to render aid to the victim immediately before rushing them to an area hospital for treatment. Crews spent an extended time at the scene to conduct preliminary investigations. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
