Torts
The word tort literally means any wrongful or negligent act. The law of torts is the same as the law of negligence. A typical example of a tort is the careless operation of a motor vehicle that results in an accident.
By law, every person has the duty to drive his or her automobile in a fashion such that it will not collide with any other vehicle or person on the highway. A tort is committed if the driver of an automobile violates that duty and causes an accident.
Tort victims have the right to sue the negligent person to recover for any injuries or property damage caused by the wrongful act of the negligent party. If you think you have been injured due to the fault of another, please call the Rockafellow Law Firm. We will be glad to consult with you at no charge and, should we take your case, the fee will be a percentage of the amount we collect for you. Out-of-pocket expenses are additional.
In Arizona, dog owners are strictly liable for unprovoked bites. This is regardless of the dog's prior temperament. The rule does not apply to trespassers.
To take advantage of this 100% liability rule, your case must be filed within one year of the bite. Waiting to file your case could cost you your right to recover what is legally yours.
If you, a friend, or family member have been bitten by a dog and you know the name of the dog's owner, call us. Our initial consultations are free and we know how to handle your dog bite case.
